In 2002, Ian established MCE and as Managing Director assumes ultimate responsibility for all facets of the company. Ian has over 40 years’ experience in the varying facets of civil engineering and has worked extensively with State Government Departments, Local Governments Authorities and private clients throughout central and regional Queensland. His ability to build strong relationships with clients and his team has ensured the sustained growth of the business.
Operations Manager / Senior Civil Engineer

Lachlan has been overseeing the MCE Engineering team since 2009. Before re‐joining MCE he had several years’ experience as Lead Engineer in the materials handling sector for Sinclair Knight Merz (Brisbane) and WorelyParsons (Vancouver, Canada).
He is now Operations Manager for MCE and oversees the business management, procurement, budgeting, performance management and day‐to‐day management of people and operational improvement. Lachlan’s experience in leading multidisciplinary teams has assisted him in specialising in delivering major urban development projects, working collectively with designers and architects to achieve unique engineering solutions.
Senior Civil Engineer

Chris has 25 years’ experience within the transport and infrastructure industry through various roles gained primarily in Department Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and more recently in private enterprise. His long career history with DTMR has allowed him to develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of DTMR business and specification. He also has a good understanding of, and “hands on” experience, with urban and commercial development, traffic and transport, stormwater drainage, water supply, building design and construction and maintenance.
Senior Structural Engineer

Geoffrey is a Senior Structural Engineer with a role in the delivery of residential, commercial, resource and industrial projects. He has extensive knowledge and practical experience in the design and construction of commercial and industrial buildings and structures including inspections and reports, structural analysis and design of foundations, steel frameworks, reinforced concrete foundations, slabs and tilt-up walls. Geoffrey has 25 years’ plus experience in multidiscipline consulting engineering practice’s and has been involved in all aspects of consulting engineering practice including project management, drafting, engineering design and reporting.
Project Manager / Senior Civil Engineer

Mark is a results-driven, quality-focused professional with more than 35 years’ experience within the transport and infrastructure industry. He provides transport infrastructure advice to engineers, project managers and developers, contract administration services, prepares audit reports of contracts and government submissions, prepares technical specifications, and provides civil engineering advice on proposed design issues. With more 37 years’ experience within the transport and infrastructure industry through various roles gained primarily in Department Transport and Main Roads (DTMR), Mark brings both management and technical expertise. He has a proven track record in successfully managing a range of project and programs across Central Queensland. Mark’s long career history with DTMR has allowed him to develop a thorough understanding of all aspects of DTMR business and specification.
BEng Civil (1st Class Hons), Road Safety Auditor (TMR Qualified).
Mayur is a Civil Engineer and has been involved in the planning and design of civil infrastructure projects, producing design drawings, estimating quantities for civil infrastructure projects, preparing bill of quantities for tendering process, preparing engineering studies and reports and general site supervisory duties in various projects. He has worked closely with the Local Government Authorities, Department of Main Roads and private clients within the region.

Sith is responsible for structural engineering elements of projects for clients in residential and commercial sectors. His technical design work includes concept development, modification, evaluation and repairs work. His project management scope encompasses identifying and developing clients, preparing proposals and managing projects through to completion. Sith’s capabilities are demonstrated over seven years of dedicated experience in key roles in small, medium and large-scale engineering projects. These projects include planned, developed, designed and implemented structural and civil blueprints based on engineering specifications and technical drawings for infrastructural projects and complex facilities.

Nathaniel is an experienced and professional engineer specialising in the management and delivery of complex transportation projects. He can capably delivery projects through all stages of concept development, preliminary and detailed design, through into contract administration and project close-out. Nathaniel has a proven track record in managing delivery of complex design projects utilising multi-faceted consultant teams with complex stakeholder considerations and political sensitivity. He has development close, functional relationships with clients including private developers, local government authorities, Department of Transport and Main Roads and Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing, and federal funding agencies. Nathaniel combines a high level of detail and creative problem solving to deliver precise solutions that are fit-for-purpose.
Senior Civil Designer
Studying – Associate Diploma of Civil Engineering
Royce is a Civil Designer and his responsibilities include design of roadworks, stormwater infrastructure and treatment and sewerage reticulation for urban and rural subdivisions for both private and government industries. He ensures that planning and design projects comply with appropriate standards and client requirements. His recent works include the $36 Mil Rockhampton Riverside Precinct, including shared zones for bike and pedestrian accessibility, $16 Mil Kershaw Gardens Redevelopment, and Alf Larson / Lions Park Redevelopment, Miriam Vale.
Royce is a highly competent Civil Designer, leading the MCE team in 12D design and AutoCAD drafting. His abilities are sought after in the CQ region with him recently mentoring the Banana Shire Council design team in Civil Design software usage.
Cadet Civil Engineer
Studying – Bachelor of Engineering
Before joining MCE Kristy studied a Bachelor of Laws (3 years) at the Queensland University of Technology. Kristy Joined MCE as a Cadet in 2012 and is now a Civil Technician studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) at Central Queensland University. Driven by her extensive studies in contract law and interest in construction management, since joining MCE Kristy has developed a high level of contract administration skills that complement her design experience. Recently Kristy has provided contract administration support on the $4.0M redevelopment of Alf Larson Park, Miriam Vale for GRC; $1.5M redevelopment of the Calliope Cemetery for GRC. Kristy has delivered a number of private development projects from concept to construction.
Cadet Civil Engineer
Studying – Bachelor of Engineering (Co-op)
Isaac joined MCE in early 2015 and assists on a variety of civil and structural projects alongside a supportive team which enables him to gain firsthand experience whilst completing his degree. The works that he has been involved in include:
- Applying approved changes to 49 lot subdivision on Greenlakes Rd, Rockhampton.
- Creating of plan set for crypt layout in Calliope Cemetery
- Updating plan set for DTMR as constructed registry for 11 contracts.
- Creating preliminary layout options for 2-3 bay washbay in Aldoga.
- Assisting Engineer with Design of a section highway in between Theodore and Moura.
- Assisting Engineer with advised location of penstock valves to be used in North Rockhampton as a flood mitigation strategy.
- Assisting Engineer with preliminary layout of a 15km stretch of road on Curtis Island
