Engineering
Reimagined

At McMurtrie Consulting Engineers (MCE), we are industry-leading engineers with regional expertise. We’re big enough to help deliver complex large-scale infrastructure projects – including some of regional Australia’s largest projects – while having the agile mindset of a much smaller company.

We provide a wide range of structural and civil engineering, consulting, management and construction services, as you would expect from an engineering consultancy of our size. But we approach engineering differently to help our clients meet their project budgets and deadlines: we plan flexibility from the start and tailor our services to scale up or scale down as a project evolves. Plus, we’re experts in spotting issues long before they impact our clients‘ programs or budgets, offering innovative design solutions at the planning phase to minimise cost implications long before construction rolls around.

Some of our recent projects include the Rockhampton Ring Road and the $1.2 billion
Shoalwater Bay ASMTI project.

We’ve worked on
Queensland’s largest
infrastructure projects

We design, manage and engineer solutions to complex problems for:

  • local and state governments
  • major corporations
  • mining companies
  • Tier 1 engineering companies and
  • private developers.

We’re regularly trusted by large clients (like Aurizon and DTMR) to act on their behalf and complete secondment roles, managing their programs and subconsultants.

We’re industry leaders with local expertise

We’re industry leaders and regional specialists with boots on the ground throughout Central Queensland and Wide Bay, Gladstone to Mackay, Dalby to Chinchilla, Rocky to Cloncurry, Kingaroy to Barcaldine and beyond.

We have a unique understanding of local conditions and all the factors that may affect your program, including the availability of local materials and contractors. Plus, we have pre-established, positive relationships with the local individuals who staff councils and planning bodies, making your projects run more smoothly. We also have strong, well-developed relationships and a demonstrated working history with niche, specialist providers. This means we can provide our clients with a one-stop choice for their projects.

Every project – no matter the scale – is our priority

Whether we’re working on the big projects or applying our unique understandings from them on a smaller scale, we bring the same attention to detail and technical expertise.

We’re the company that can successfully deliver Queensland’s largest infrastructure project for the Queensland Government at the same time as a drive-through restaurant for a small private developer.

We’re well known in the industry for being an agile organisation, able to independently deliver key elements of design development as well as stepping in to provide support in critical roles within established project teams.

Communication and customer satisfaction are key

At MCE, not only is our team always available to you, your liaison point will always be a senior member of the project.

Throughout the life of your project, we ensure you stay in close contact with someone who had a role in its development phase and knows your project’s workings inside and out. Plus, all our project managers are senior engineers as well, so you’ll have access to expert technical advice and support whenever you need it.

We partner with our clients to build positive, long-lasting relationships because we understand and value great communication. Our high numbers of repeat customers and word-of-mouth recommendations are testament to the quality of our work and our clients’ positive experience with us as well.

Together with our clients, we’re engineering regional Australia’s future.

I have worked with Lachlan and the team at MCE on a number of projects over the past 5 years, including Alf Larson Park Redevelopment and Calliope Cemetery as the lead consultants from concept through to construction.

MCE go above and beyond to deliver. Their open and honest communication and ability to work through problems and find innovative solutions is why I continue to engage them.
