Summary

The former Masonic and Citizens Club Incorporated, on the corner of William and Kent Street, Rockhampton, was converted downstairs to a restaurant, bar and conference room and upstairs was converted to boutique apartments.

Structurally this required the sub-floor framing to be modified to allow removal of existing columns and load bearing walls. This was achieved by providing new steel UB bearers, SHS columns and reinforced concrete foundations.

The existing brick walls included new large doorways that required steel reinforcement of the lintels and stiles. The upper storey rood and wall framing reconfiguration required upgrading to comply with current code requirements for tie-down and bracing.
